Is PAR16 closer to an MR16 than a PAR30? Any specific bulbs recommended? Cons: Eyeball trims everywhere is too many eyeballs (lol)? I'm wrong about PAR16?

Pros: I *think* PAR16 would be closer to the MR16 effect? And the fixtures are 1/4 the cost.

TBC.ģ - A 6-inch eyeball trim that takes PARs of varying sizes, which would let me use a PAR16 (like this: ). I've ordered bulbs similar to A but with a 2700K, hoping that the warmer Kelvins will do the trick on warmth. I've tried:Ī - Philips halogen PAR30, 39 watt, 2900K, 530 lumen, flood - it's close but doesn't seem as warmī - Philips halogen PAR30, 75 watt, 2900, 920 lumen, spot (thinking the "spot" would give the same effect as MR16 - it doesn't). Cons: can't seem to find a bulb that mimics the MR16. Pros: fixture is nicer looking and less expensive. Given those cons, the other options are.Ģ - Elco trim that requires PAR30. But the fixtures are expensive (especially if we replace throughout the house) not so attractive difficult to insert the bulbs. This lets me use the bulbs I want (Philips halogen, 50watt, 430 lumen, 2800K - beautiful light). Here are the options:ġ - I've tried the Eurofase Nexlite conversion trim that takes MR16s with a GU10 base. I LOVE halogen MR16 lights and want to either use those or use a regular edison base halogen bulb that gets the same light quality as MR16s, in replacing our current 6-inch cans. What is the best way to get light like an MR16 halogen, in a 6-inch can?
